Channeling the Sugarbakers

Don’t get me wrong. It’s a great song, and the imagery in the video is not lost on me…however, the sight of Amy & Emily in Designing Women drag is alarming! Not to mention that Emily looks like Barbara Bush upon learning that several Katrina evacuees will be coming to stay at Kennebunkport…

I wonder how many tens of years it has been since either of them has been in a skirt. I find all the “grunting” faces to be deeply disturbing. And A-Ray’s red lipstick, too. Yikes!

Ok, I’m actually commenting on the Fame request up at the top, but there are no comments there….so…well…. anyway.

I have the entire first season of Fame on DVD. You wanna borrow? Be warned, however: it doesn’t hold up to the memories of youth. It is very, very, very bad. I was crushed.

Hmm…maybe I shouldn’t spoil my sweet memories of Doris and Leroy and Sherofsky…or maybe I should just wait until winter hibernation season to borrow them and then binge!

A binge is a good idea, definitely on a snow day, pour yourself a martini first. You’re going to need it. The acting abilities of the Kids from Fame seemed a lot better in 1981.
