Back in the Saddle Again

That Mel Watson is mesmerizing...
And thus I return to the blogging world (and the land of the living) after a self-imposed hiatus dictated by vacations and running, followed by a hiatus dictated by two weeks of tonsilitis and strep and some degree of cabin fever. If anyone needs any advice on what cold/allergy/throat products to buy -or not buy- when you’re illin’, write to me. I’ve tried them all. Favorite shows to watch when home: Pimp My Ride, Amish in the City and the endless Dateline-esque shows. I may have already been unwittingly sucked into The Real World, Philadelphia. They really have you from episode #1. I’m afraid to say that I don’t believe The Jane Pauley Show will make it. Talk show hosting is not her niche. Dateline is. Least favorite show (I must have been too tired to change the channel): Stars on Ice as Contests on Family Feud=Bad News.

So last night was the first journey out after two weeks…my deadline to be well was to see FRUiT at Schuba’s. FRUiT was incredible, as always. If you haven’t seen them in person, check out their DVD which will be encoded for the United States and released in February. Buy it at CD Baby. I will be on the waiting list.

I’m back to eating solid foods. My staples of eating were comprised of yogurt (fat free), vanilla pudding, ice cream (Dulce de Leche) and various frozen treats (Popsicles and Italian Ices). I hardly drank any Coke. Now I need to get my body back in shape fast for the 27th Chicago Marathon which is three weeks from Sunday. Yikes and stay tuned.
