Fired Up!

Courtney adding on here:

Okay, I’ve just really liked Holly Near since she and Ronnie Gilbert were the featured performers at the Bryn Mawr Summer School for Women Workers Reunion in 1985. I wasn’t there, but have the awesome documentary of the reunion (Called ‘The Women of Summer: An Unknown Chapter in American Social History’). To see Holly Near in person was great. She and Cris Williamson will be at Northwestern in Chicago near the end of November.

I’ve stated how much I like lyrics (and why I like the Indigo Girls so much). Fired Up! has one of my favorite verses:

Can’t just focus on kids with wealth
Can’t pick and choose who gets the health care
Take an honest look at the great divide
Looks dangerously similar to genocide

You just don’t get any better in political songs.

I’ll be posting other favorite verses in posts to come.
Not all political. Some sappy.

I would really like to see this clip. Any idea why it won’t load. I left and took a shower (a long one), came back and it still wasn’t loaded.
    Any suggestions?

Thanks for posting it to your site!
