Probably the meanest girl in school

Ginger. Are those, ahem, comfortable shoes she's wearing?

In other news. We now direct your attention to some clearly defamatory information out there on the web. As Told By Ginger is a Nickelodeon show that appears to have something against the staff at The show features two suspiciously-named characters, Courtney and Miranda, whose descriptions are as follows:

Courtney Gripling – The most popular girl in school, Courtney is obscenely rich, and she gets everything she wants. She is best friends with Miranda, and they spend most of their time making fun of those they believe are “below” them. Courtney shows a sweet side of herself every now and then when she befriends Ginger. Ginger wants to be friends with Courtney, but in the end, it’s never really clear whether Courtney wants to be real friends, or if she’s just on a power trip.

Miranda Killgallen – Miranda is Courtney’s best friend, and probably the meanest girl in school. She thinks she is better than anyone (maybe even better than Courtney) and she shows it all the time, by treating every one like garbage.

Ok, “Ginger,” or whatever your real name is – Girl, don’t throw down like that unless you’re prepared to represent. You think you’ve seen the meanest girl in school? You ain’t seen nothing yet.

In the words of L7, “You can call me a tramp/Don’t unplug my amp/We didn’t do nothing.”

More libel regarding Courtney: “Totally self-absorbed and opportunistic, Courtney takes her position as Most Popular Girl very seriously. She prides herself on the diplomatic control and manipulation of her classmates. She’s intrigued and baffled, however, by Ginger’s backbone and real friendships. So she sets out to pluck the “unknown” from the dregs of everyday life and make her a Popular Girl. Thus, Ginger becomes the latest experiment in Courtney’s puppet show. It sometimes seems as if the spoiled, wealthy Courtney—who, among other notable achievements, is light years ahead of her peers in makeup application skills—was born into her role. You almost can’t blame her for being so inconsiderate and selfish…almost…”

More libel regarding Miranda: “Cold, calculating Miranda is Courtney’s right hand, and this pre-teen beauty goes green with jealousy whenever “the Foutley girl” is around. She loves to keep Ginger constantly off-balance, scheming to undermine her socially—she’s always whispering some horrible rumor or another in her ear—and smiling widely all the while.”

Boy, that Ginger doesn’t mince words! I’ve never heard of the show before, but now I will certainly record it. Miranda, could we ever be friends of a person nicknamed Mipsey >? A tad trixie-fied if you ask me. (Are OUR names trixie-fied?)

I can’t believe Nickelodeon would do this to us! I was a devotee of Nick and Nite when no one had heard of it and it was REAL: black and white shows: The Donna Reed Show, The Ann Sothern Show, the ‘lost’ black and white seasons of Bewitched and My Three Sons…

Ginger is dead to me. Dead, I say. And you know what? I AM better than she is. So there.

Well, I think Ginger realizes that we’re both *much* cuter than she—could explain some of the lashing out. I just don’t understand why the other Courtney G. befriends her as part of a power trip? I must watch the show and report back…

Yes, send back a report. I don’t know what’s got Ginger’s panties in a twist, but clearly Courtney and Miranda have to stay together and present a united front against this shocking and uninvited hostility.

Geez, so many good (and damning) quotes in the update.

    My favorite:

“Courtney?who, among other notable achievements, is light years ahead of her peers in makeup application skills…” How true is THAT?

    I shouldn’t have made fun of Ginger’s looks—apparently, I’m a dead-ringer for her, were she a blonde.

Hmm…I’m now described as “cold” and “calculating.” I’d be more offended if it wasn’t occasionally true… And at least they got the (fleece) vest and love of monochromatic outfits right.

Still. As everyone knows, I do not “smile widely all the time.” Excessive smiling does not fit with my lifestyle as the Meanest Girl in School. Take that, Ginger, you beeyatch.

Ginger is cool. She keeps an old fashioned blog. It is called a jornal or diary and it is not available online. Plus they all go to Lucky Junior High.

Yes, of course the seventh grade teacher would know all there is to know about a group of conniving seventh grade girls. What is up with this show? No wonder I can’t get a girl to like chemistry, they are too busy watching Ginger to learn how to undermine friendships than to learn how the mutarotation of a hexose forms a hemiacetal reducing sugar. It is a sad state of affairs indeed.

“Loosers.” Hmm. Maybe we’ll get a life when you get a dictionary.

Um…not against the show. Never seen it, actually, as it’s not really aimed at my demographic. Just riffing on two of the characters’ names.

Humor, parody, irony, sarcasm…just a few concepts that would be useful for full utilization of this site. Note to fans of ‘As Told By Ginger’ – we have nothing against this show; frankly, we don’t really care about the show at all. We’re sure it’s good, wholesome, animated fun. Please don’t waste precious energy and time fluffing up your defense mechanisms here. Just move along peacefully now…
